BUYING EXAMPLES
These are examples from an actual buying situation. The diamonds were from a well known ‘brand’ and all had excellent GIA symmetry.
Rejected – slightly too much leakage
They show some white leakage areas just inside the table.

Partial leakage through the table is not as bad as it seems. The ideal-scope is very harsh on partial leakage; although it looks like about 50% leakage, the palest areas leak less than 25%.

Good buys
The small bits of leakage near the edges add contrast; all very fine diamonds. The third stone was only graded GIA ‘Good’ for symmetry, but it looks exceptional to the human eye
